I also had the spinach salad which hardly had any Gorgonzola in it, just a few morsels. The salad had no flavor. On the other hand my daughter had tortellini which she raved about. For dessert my daughter had crème brûlée which she did not care for and I had cappuccino which was delicious. The ambience was delightful. I brought my husband and in-laws here b/c it was always so good in the past. They say us upstairs, alone at 1st, but 2 o... I brought my husband and in-laws here b/c it was always so good in the past. They say us upstairs, alone at 1st, but 2 other tables occupied shortly after. That's when our service rapidly declined. It took a good 35 to 40 minutes before we got our meals. It may had something to do with our waitress talking about European living with a couple at the other table. Just when I was going to interupt her and ask her to check on our food, she excused herself and told the couple " so sorry but I must check on their meal" and downstairs she went. She arrived 10 minutes later with our meals. My salmon dish was cool and not edible. She brought back another hot microwaved plate of food. It seemed to have that microwave touch but to their credit, I couldn't prove it. At the end , I did leave our waitress a 20% tip on the full amt of 180.00 before the coupon was applied. My husband was a little miffed at me for leaving 20%. He had to remind me that tips are a reflection of the service.. A reminder I won't forget again. My in-laws frequent Giovannies Italian and the food and service is better hands down. I do hope this was just an off night for this quaint little place. I placed a reservation. When we arrived they had us stand in a crowded, small space, that was not suitable for a lobby,... I placed a reservation. What made it worse is that this "lobby area" was also where 2 dining tables are and the guests were looking at us as if we were in the wrong place. Although we had a reservation the man that greetes us said he only had outside tables. We thought this would be okay but the table outside was a very small maybe 12"x12" table (tiny) that barely anything fit on. Then it started raining. No one came to ask if we wanted to move inside. Then it started pouring so we went under a larger table that was a few feet away that had a patio umbrella. It took us about 90 minutes before our entrees arrived. It was a pretty poor experience. We ordered calamari, it came out chewy. We expected a lot more. I wish I could get my credit for restaurant.com back. Read more Read less
